(More customer reviews)This is not stainless steel. The surface has a coating very similar to the Zyliss ice cream scoop, which pits and wears away. I own the Zyliss and was specifically trying to buy a scoop that was just made of stainless steel. This ain't it, so I'm returning it. That said, I'm sure it scoops ice cream wonderfully as the reviews seem to indicate.
